It's Okay...

It's okay...that I rarely sometimes often wear my jeans one time extra before washing because I don't want them to fit tight again.  Having loose jeans, even if it is because they are slightly dirty, is good for my self-esteem!

This would not be possible in clean jeans.

It's okay...that I sometimes, on really tough days, watch the clock and count the minutes until Moose's bed time.

It's okay...that, on the other hand, seeing Moose when she first wakes up is the absolute highlight of my day.

It's okay...that I ate ice cream almost every day this week.  I blame it on those damn monthly hormones.  On the upside, Kroger stopped carrying my favorite ice cream, which means that my consumption is going to go way down.

It's okay...that I made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies today and ate at least 1/2 cup of batter, plus a cookie (and it is only 2:00 as I type this).  Actually, this one is not really okay, but it is over, so there is nothing that I can do about it now!

They are gluten free.  Does that count for anything?!

It's okay...that the only reason that I exercise is so that I can do things like eat a 1/2 cup of cookie batter.  If I ever want to get serious about losing weight, I will have to actually exercise and eat well.  Blah.

It's okay...that I pretended to be appalled when I saw the Christmas stuff out in Target, but I was secretly happy.  While I am not ready for Christmas quite yet (the season starts for me on November 1st), it still put a smile on my face.

Please share what is okay with you this week!

  1. I love all of these!!
I don't even pretend to be annoyed by how early Christmas stuff comes out - I just love it!!
And I think your reason for exercising sounds totally legit.

    1. Thanks so much, Nancy! It's hard not to love the Christmas sruff, right? The most awesome part is that I smelled it (the cinnamon scented stuff that was hidden behind the Halloween section) before I saw it, so I was really excited! Glad I am not alone in loving Christmas stuff in September (it was Saturday when I saw it)! :)

  2. Bahaha ... that's how I am when I make cookies. It's all about the batter. And I never wash my jeans after the first, second, sometimes the third wearing. Yikes!
You are right ... we have SO much in common -- except I can't get on board with the pumpkin stuff, Just doesn't do it for me,

    1. The batter is totally the best part! I could forgo the cookies entirely and just eat the dough. To me, the best cookies are the ones that are slightly undercooked so that they taste like the batter! This was the first time that I have added pumpkin and they were wonderful, but I am a pumpkin lover. :)

And, thank you for making me not be alone in wearing my dirty jeans. They are SO good for my self-esteem. I am not joking, I have to do acrobatics to get into my jeans when they have just been washed. It is awful!

      Thanks for your comments! :)

  3. I spent waaaaay too much time in the Christmas aisles at hobby lobby last week. I want one of everything. I'm so glad you posted about the jeans. My husband asked me if I wanted to throw my jeans in the laundry and I said no....they are finally loose eno to be comfortable. LOL!!! Thanks for linking up to its okay!

    1. Lol..I don't blame you! I have to do squats to get my jeans over my hips and butt when they first come out of the washing machine. It is awful! I seriously do the "smell test" to see if they need washing and, when they do, I just want to cry.

I am SO jealous that you were in the Christmas section of Hobby Lobby. I used to love that store when I lived in Cincinnati, but now we live in a really small town, so we don't have a Hobby Lobby anywhere near us. So sad!

      Thanks for commenting! :)

  4. My jeans definitely get worn until they are visibly dirty or carry a smell. And I'm ok with that! :) These days, I spend almost every day watching the clock. B goes 100mph everyday and being 9 months pregnant, I don't have the energy for it all.

    1. Agree! Glad I am not alone with the jeans thing. I totally do the "smell test" to see if I can still wear them. Once they have gone through the washing machine, I completely lose interest in wearing them and go back to yoga pants. Ha!

Being 9 months pregnant entitles you to only wear sweatpants in my opinion. Enjoy it while you can!

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and thanks so much for commenting!

  5. I'm so with you on the exercising to eat thing. And cookie batter is The. Best. Thing. Ever.

    1. Isn't it though?! It is SO much better than the cookies!

Thanks for reading and commenting. :)

  6. I sorta feel the same on every single point that you've made here. I've eating cookies after kids go to bed as a coping mechanism for having a rough day, some days are three cookie days others are 4 cookie days, and I don't feel guilty at all!

    1. I also eat as a coping mechanism! I usually choose ice cream, but when cookies are around, they just seem to call my name. :)

  7. I'm sure it's okay that I'm avoiding washing dishes and laundry because my feet and back hurt even though it's my day off... Well, maybe not, but I'm doing it anyway.

  8. Ha! Love it! Sometimes I feel the least like doing stuff when it is one of my days off. Good for you! :)
